Bowen Church, American cornetist, gave first cornet recital at 11, joined Reeve’s American Band of Providence at 13, led the Gilmore band temporarily, known for his drinking problem, became leader of the Providence band for a while, known as one of the really great cornetists of his era, died in Jersey City, New Jersey.
