Michael Sachs, American trumpeter, won 4th trumpet in Houston Symph Orch and Houston Grand Opera, adjunct prof at Rice Univ, principal of the Cleveland Orch in 1988, chair of the brass dept at the Cleveland Inst of Music, taught at Grand Teton, Aspen, Eastern Music, NOI, and many other festivals, soloist with the Cleveland Orch, New York Phil, Houston Symph Orch, and many others, premiered the Concerto for Trumpet by John Williams in 1996, wrote Daily Fundamentals for Trumpet, Mahler Symphonic Works for Trumpet, 14 Duets for Trumpet and Trombone, and The Orchestral Trumpet, born in Los Angeles, California.
