Herman Autrey, American trumpeter and singer, toured around until he joined George Hyder’s band in Philadelphia (1929-32) and then Charlie Johnson’s orchestra in NYC, then played with Fats Waller’s band (1934-9; 1941-2), toured with various groups, had car accident and recovered and played in Red Richards’ Saints and Sinners, sang more in the 1970s, born in Evergreen, Alabama.
