Miguel Martínez, Mexican trumpeter, composer and bandleader, important mariachi musician, became member of a local mariachi group when young, became member of the Mariachi Vargas when 21 and made thousands of recordings and more than 130 films, became friend of Rafael Méndez, played for one year with Mariachi México de Pepe Villa, eventually formed his own Mariachi Tolteca de Miguel Martínez (1965-70), composed many mariachi “standards”, died in Mexico City.
