Rich Willey, American trumpeter and composer, enlisted in US Army in 1974 and studied at the US Navy School of Music, switched to valve trombone because of embouchure problem, recorded The Great American Songbook with Mel Tormé, returned to trumpet, freelanced in NYC, authored many educational books, toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, teacher at UNC-Asheville and Clemson, born in Orlando, Florida.
