John Haynie, American trumpeter, enlisted in military during WWII, earning three battle stars and the victory medal, after service, after service, began teaching at North Texas State Univ (1950-90), worked with radiography to understand the mechanics of the oral cavity during trumpet performance, taught 100s of students, wrote many books, won many awards, one of the greatest college teachers in U.S. history, born in Ralls, Texas.
