Veniamin Margolin, Russian trumpeter, played in a military band during WWII (and served as common soldier), played in the Kirov Theater Orch after service, principal in the Leningrad Phil Orch (1947-74), highly regarded as an orchestral solo trumpeter, prof at the Smolensk School of Music and the St. Petersburg Conservatory, born in Petrograd, Russia.
