Harry Glantz, Russian-born American trumpeter, began playing weddings, dances and Bar Mitzvahs, became first trumpet of the Russian Symphony Orch at 15, principal in the National Opera Company at 17, invited to play first trumpet for the San Francisco Exposition Orch, principal of the Boston Symphony Orch, principal of the Philadelphia Orch (1915-17), joined the US Marine Band in 1917, after service played principal with the New York Symphony, principal with the San Francisco Symphony, principal of the New York Phil (1923-42), principal in the NBC Symph (1942-54), taught at Univ of Miami (1972-82), died in Bay Harbor, Florida.
