“Buddy” Petit, American jazz trumpeter, played with Jelly Roll Morton in Los Angeles in 1917, returned to New Orleans because of disagreement, led his own band (and later several under his name) and a brass band, played with Kid Ory in California, born in White Castle, Louisiana.
