Herbert Spanier, Canadian trumpeter and composer, joined group called Boptet in 1948, played in Chicago, Toronto, NYC, Montreal, LA, then back to Montreal and then Toronto, working with his own groups, the CBC Orchestra and with Nimmons ‘n Nine Plus Six (1971-80; winning a Juno Award), composed film music, born in Cupar, Saskatchewan, Canada.
